Child of Darfur

There are six things a child’s eyes should not see, seven that break the heart of God --

Mother, large with child, shot dead and
sand drifting over the still smoldering village.
The last piece of bread.
The loss of all comfort -- and a culture.
The stiff back of the world.
The death of hope.

My faith without action.

  1. The picture that you posted is very daunting... A few months ago I read a book about a Rwandan holocaust survivor called, "Left to Tell" by Immaculee Ilibagiza. Some how she was able to forgive the people who had done so much evil to her, her family and her country. Considering the fact that I hold a grudge against the people that cut me off in traffic, I am almost positive that I would not be able to forgive the people who killed my family and friends. Nonetheless, she came to believe that not forgiving would actually cause more harm to her than to the murderers.
